2010-2011 Grant Programs

2010-2011 Grant Program Applications are currently under review. 

 

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST FELLOWSHIPS honor Long Beach’s living artists for exemplary recent work. Eligible artists must reside in Long Beach and demonstrate an active exhibition and/or production record of at least 3 years. Eligible artistic disciplines include Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Media Arts, Multidisciplinary or Interdisciplinary Arts, and Traditional/Folk Arts. Application deadline is April 30, 2010.

OPERATING GRANTS I & II provide unrestricted operating support to Long Beach-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts and cultural organizations whose primary mission is to collect, preserve, present, and/or commission exemplary works of art. Eligible organizations must be headquartered in Long Beach, report annual operating revenue of at least $250,000, possess three consecutive years of Arts Council for Long Beach funding, as well as meet additional eligibility requirements (see guidelines for details). New applicants must submit a Letter of Intent to Apply by April 9, 2010.  Application deadline is April 30, 2010.

NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECT GRANTS support projects that identify community needs, target audiences, and demonstrate the ability to meet needs through planning and program delivery. Worthy projects support community representation and cultural respect, encourage cultural diversity, and/or enhance underserved Long Beach communities. Any individual or group may apply; nonprofit status is NOT required; project must be open to the public (this includes school programs) and delivered within the City of Long Beach.  Application deadline is April 30, 2010.

COMMUNITY PROJECT GRANTS support the exemplary artistic, cultural, and arts educational projects of arts and cultural organizations in Long Beach.  Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or non-incorporated organizations with an approved 501(c)(3) fiscal receiver headquartered in Long Beach and must demonstrate a minimum of two years of arts/cultural programming in Long Beach, as well as meet additional eligibility requirements (see guidelines for details). New applicants must submit a Letter of Intent to Apply by April 9, 2010.  Application deadline is April 30, 2010.

California Cultural Data Project Profile


Applicants to the Arts Council for Long Beach Community Project Grant and Operating Grant I and II categories are required to complete a California Cultural Data Project (CA CDP) profile.  Applicants should give themselves at least two weeks to complete the process of creating the first data profile.  (CA CDP users must provide two years of data the first time they complete the profile.  After the first year, groups will only need to provide one year of data.)
