The California Arts Council announced its plans to award $10,200 to the Arts Council for Long Beach as part of its “Artists in Schools” program. This funding will support our Eye on Design program, a 15-week public art education program for students in the Long Beach Unified School District. The program’s goal is to increase students’ knowledge of art and acquire the skills to improve their community through the arts. The culmination of the program is the creation and installation of permanent public art mosaics at each school.
