On Wednesday, September 23, from 5–6:30 p.m., the Arts Council for Long Beach’s monthly Open Conversations event welcomes the Small Business Development Center. Hosted by Long Beach City College since 2006, the Development Center provides one-on-one advising for small businesses. The Arts Council is excited to partner with them to highlight the many free services available to help artists looking to take their practice to the next level. Ted Hiatt, interim director of the Development Center and business advisors Amy Eriksen and Se Reed will share the free services the Development Center offers. Lisa DeSmidt, marketing and grants manager for the Arts Council will highlight ways to use the Arts Council’s new website to market yourself. Participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm ideas for future training programs for artists. The meeting will be held at the Small Business Development Center office located at 309 Pine Ave.
