The Arts Council for Long Beach and Arts for LA will hold a Candidate Forum on Wednesday,
March 21, 2012, 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Museum of Latin American Art.
Candidates for the Long Beach Unified School District School
Board, Long Beach City College Board of Trustees and Long
Beach City Council have been invited to attend.
This public event will connect candidates running in the April 10 election with constituents interested
in Long Beachʼs rich cultural heritage and deep commitment to the arts.

Forums will be moderated by Sandy VandenBerge from the Long Beach Community Foundation.
The purpose of the candidate forum is to provide an opportunity for candidates and the public to discuss arts
education, public art, arts funding and to hear the candidatesʼ perspectives on the role of arts and culture in
the local economy in fostering a healthy, engaged society. Candidates will have an opportunity to respond to
questions from the public.
