Statement

Growing up in Los Angeles, I often noticed graffiti and murals. The attitude and the history behind the two practices has influenced my artistic direction, helping me understand art as a statement of self, communities, people, and culture. My paintings are a semiotic inflection of the colors and feeling that I observe while experiencing the world around me. In essences the paintings work in conjunction with the titles to create a poetic narrative that leads the viewer into a visual trip.
