Santa Ana Neighborhood Photo Project (Introduction/Planning)

Photography serves as a powerful artistic medium, allowing communities to narrate their stories authentically. Join us in this immersive art and documentary experience, supported by photographer/artist Lucas Gordon. Together with Santa Ana Building Healthy Communities (SABHC) community members, Lucas Gordon invites you to embark on a neighborhood photo walk, capturing the essence of what you love about Santa Ana.
Details:
- Participants will be compensated with a $50 honorarium for their time and contribution to this community art project.
- Participants will be given a single-use 35mm camera to work with for this project.
- The captured film will be professionally processed and developed.
- Participants will receive their printed pictures and photo albums to create personal mementos of the people and things they cherish during a culminating event.
- The best images will be digitized, creating a comprehensive digital community photo album to preserve the rich history and legacy of our community.
- These images will not only serve as a documentation of our community but will also be utilized in collage and multimedia projects for future endeavors.
Objective: This event aims to celebrate and document the unique stories and vibrant culture of Santa Ana through the lens of its residents. By participating, you contribute to a collective effort to preserve the history, traditions, and connections that make our community special.
