The Museum of Latin American Art presents Defiant Chronicles by Acamonchi and Perl at the Collaborative, April 30-July 24, 2011. The opening reception will be held April 30, 2011 from 7- 10pm. Comprised by the work of Acamonchi and Perl, Defiant Chronicles challenges the traditional approach to street/urban art as a practice that is meant to be singled-out from its context and it breaks the conception of urban art as a male dominated art form. The exhibition is co-curated by Idurre Alonso, MOLAA and Mario Ibarra, Jr.and Karla Diaz, Slanguage Founders.

About The Collaborative The Collaborative, a project of the Arts Council for Long Beach and the Museum of Latin American Art, presents exhibitions that raise awareness of both emerging artists and new innovative approaches to art. This project is funded by Lyon Communities through the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency's Percent for Public Art Policy.
