The Arts Council for Long Beach’s annual State of the Arts is the preeminent arts event of the year. In partnership with the Office of the Mayor, this special occasion brings together residents, the creative community and city leaders to celebrate the arts in Long Beach. This event is free and open to the public.

Arts Awards

James A. Ackerman Arts Philanthropist
The James A. Ackerman Arts Philanthropist Award honors a person who exemplifies the spirit of giving through extraordinary support of the arts in Long Beach. This individual has dedicated their time and effort in order to contribute to the betterment of the city through the arts.

Incite/Insight Award
The Incite/Insight Award honors a person, organization or group that demonstrates an original perspective within the arts community. This award highlights people with varying capacities in the arts field: education, arts practice, community service, and arts management.

Creative Economy Leader
This award honors a person, organization or group that contributes to the creative economic development of Long Beach through the arts sector.
